PRYC Racing Program
Announcing BARC
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 28 January 2010 20:25

The BARC Series is a series of races sponsored by IYC, TYC and PRYC. You will find the SI's for the distance races in the Docs & Regs menu or click here.

Essentially the Series will be scored based on three existing Regattas (Semiahmoo Bay International, WOW/Myron Terry, Point Roberts Classic which will be run exactly as they have been in the past) PLUS three new “Distance” races in March, May and June, each with a race fee of $15 payable to the sponsoring Club.

Each Regatta and Distance race will be scored individually.

For the purposes of BARC this means there are 11 scheduled races, and BARC scores will be based on the best 6 races for the boat out of the 11 races.

You will still have to register for each Regatta and each Distance race separately; any boat registering for any of the races is automatically scored for BARC.

There is a Cruising Division for those who prefer to sail NFS, and anyone without a current PHRF certificate will also be placed in the Cruising Division.

The first race in the series starts at 1030 on Saturday March 20th in the vicinity of Border marker “F”. Keep an eye on http://www.pointrobertsracing.com/ for more information.

So come out and join the challenge the Bay Area Race Council offers.

Are you going through racing withdrawal? Maybe not as much as our fleet captain is. However, you can get your still get your racing fix this holiday season, and without freezing any essential body parts too. Yes - from the comfort of your favourite computer armchair, peanut butter sandwich in hand, you can race in our online series! Races are each Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 8pm.

This game is wickedly cool. The graphics are spectacular. The scenarios are nifty, the controls are easy. Did I mention that it is free?

Thanks to recent prompting by Damian, the PRYC Racing Forum has come alive lately. So much so, that I moved the link to enter the forum to the top menu bar (look up between "Crew Registration" and "Point Roberts Yacht Club". Hopefully that makes it convenient for everyone to participate.

You must register a user account to submit. It just takes a minute. Click on "Create an account" at the bottom of the left navigation bar.

Please review and respect the forum posting rules.
